Harvest some Thanksgiving laughter, love, appreciation and create memories

Visiting Thanksgiving Celebrations Around the US

Thanksgiving marks the time where we begin harvesting from crops, gathering up all that nutrition and creating a huge feast with.

I really enjoy learning what you do for different celebrations, holidays and other festivities. I have compiled a large selection of things related to Thanksgiving into this post.

I got to learn about many things you do for Thanksgiving. Found a few new things I would like to try.

Found some great sales going on in November too.

Turkey, potatoes and peas, cranberry sauce and cookies, all these goodies we will eat up, and on the couch we will windup. ~ Though Turkeys are grateful for Vegetarians on Thanksgiving ;). Author unknown

Some things about Thanksgiving I was looking for were:

  • New recipes that I haven’t seen
  • How different families celebrate
  • Crafts that can be made
  • Drinks to serve
  • I like to also learn how you either continue with traditions that have been passed down in your family and what new traditions have begun.
  • How your culture celebrates Thanksgiving

What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal. -Albert Pine

what-you-do-for-others-is-immortal

This saying is the truth! It definitely relates to Thanksgiving because It is a time to help others. Being selfish is death and being selfless is immortal for sure. Do you help out anyone for non monetary reasons? What charities do you donate to and why? Do you volunteer?

I haven’t been able to volunteer lately, the little ones make it hard. I do donate to things like Toys for Tots, things for foster children and homeless people.

There’s a self expansive aspect of gratitude. Very possibly it’s a little known law of Nature the more gratitude you have, the more you have to be grateful for. -Elaine St. James

Thanksgiving is a time for us to reflect on things we have done throughout the year. Did we achieve what we wanted to or at least put things into motion that continues us on the path to achieve those goals?

It is a time that when I sit down to begin creating my lie plan for next year I think about all the things I am grateful for, things I am appreciative of, things I have really worked hard towards and now I am enjoying the results of those seeds.

To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven.
-Johannes A. Gaertner

So here are some things I have found about Thanksgiving. Tell me in the comments about your own Thanksgiving celebrations.
